Big R, Greeley, CO $30,672.00 and alternate bid $27,600.00; Contech, Lincoln, NE $57,200, $39,000, $41,200 and $27,000 for pre­cast; Husker Steel, Columbus, NE alternate bid $78,898.00. The bids wil be tabulated for possible awarding at the regular Scots Bluff County Commissioners meeting on March 18, 2013. March 18, 2013 - Moved by Meyer, seconded by Marker to award the culvert materials bid to Big R, Greeley, Co., for $27,600.00 as recommended by Robert Bennet, Public Works Director.

Motor Grader bids were received and opened by Jerry Crable, Management Accountant. Murphy Tractor, Gering: 2013 670G, $190,530.00 with $28,500.00 trade­in, $162,030.00; 2013 670G, $193,187.00 with $28,500.00 trade­in, $164,687.00. Nebraska Machinery, Gering: 2013 Caterpilar 12M2, $202,940.08 with $18,000.00 trade­in, $184,940.08; 2013 Caterpilar 120M2, $183,578.53 with $18,000.00 trade­in, $165,578.53, Alternate Cash $183,578.53. The Bids were tabulated and presented at the County Commissioner meeting on June 17, 2013. June 17, 2013 - Moved by Meyer, seconded by Straton to award the motor grader bid to Murphy Tractor, Gering, for a 2013 John Deere 670G Motor Grader for a total Lease/Purchase of $173,963.22 as recommended by Robert Bennet, Public Works Director.

Roads Dept - Bridge Project C­79 (348) - June 13, 2013

Jerry Crable, Management Accountant, opened bids for Bridge Project C­79 (348). Bids received were from : Simon Contractor, North Plate, 5% bid bond ­ $134,920.00; R & C Welding, Gering, 5% bid bond ­ $96,002.60. The Bids were tabulated by McCaslin and presented at the County Commissioner meeting on June 17, 2013. June 17, 2013 - Moved by Meyer, seconded by  Blaha to award the bridge project #C007910410, B­13 to R & C Welding, Gering, for $96,002.60 as recommended by Robert Bennet, Public Works Director.

Roads Dept - Gravel - November 1, 2013

Gravel bids were received and opened by Robert Bennett, Public Works Director on November 1, 2013. Bennet opened gravel bids from  received from Western Engineering Co., Inc., Scotsbluff and Kembel Sand & Gravel, Scotsbluff. Kembel Sand & Gravel $7.50 a ton ($10.12 per cubic yard); Western Engineering Co., Inc., Scotsbluff $9.45 per cubic yard ($7.00 a ton). The bids wil be tabulated for possible awarding at the regular Scots Bluff County Commissioners meeting on November 4, 2013. November 4, 2013 - Moved by Marker, seconded by Meyer to receive the gravel bids from Western Engineering, Inc. and Kembel Sand & Gravel and award the bid to Western Engineering, Inc. for $9.45 per cubic yard ($7.00 a ton) as recommended by Robert Bennet, Public Works Director.

Buildings and Grounds Department - Bus Barn - December 7, 2013

Bus Barn bids were received and opened by Carol Prince, Director of Operations on December 7, 2013. Prince opened new bus barn bids received from Paul Reed Construction, Scotsbluff and Anderson­Shaw Construction, Scotsbluff. Paul Reed Construction $875,200 with Alternate Deduct #1 $22,174 and Alternate #2 Deduct $2,624. Anderson­Shaw Construction, Scotsbluff $942,000 with Alternate Deduct #1 $22,954 and Alternate #2 Deduct $2,731. Both companies submited 5% bid bonds. A total of five companies expressed interest in bidding with two submiting bids in a timely manner. The bids wil be tabulated for possible awarding at the regular Scots Bluff County Commissioners meeting on December 18, 2013. December 18, 2013 - Moved by Meyer, seconded by Blaha to award the new bus barn bid to Paul Reed Construction, Gering, for $875,000.00 as recommended by Carol Prince, Director of Operations.
