Roads Department - Truck - April 4, 2014

Truck bids were received and opened by Robert Bennett, Public Works Director. Bennet opened a truck bid from Floyd's Sales & Service, Scotsbluff. Only one truck bid was received by the Public Works Department. The first proposal was in the amount of $129,677.00 with options of $1,844.00 for a Freightliner truck. The alternate bid, also for a Freightliner, was for $126,679.00. The Bids were tabulated and presented at the County Commissioner meeting on April 7, 2014. April 7, 2014 - Moved by Meyer, seconded by Straton to award the truck bid to Floyds Truck Sales & Service, Scotsbluff, for a 2014 Freightliner at $131,511.00 as recommended by Robert Bennet, Public Works Director.

Roads Department - Gravel - April 18, 2014

Gravel bids were received and opened by Robert Bennett, Public Works Director on April 18, 2014. Bennet opened gravel bids from RTS Shearing, Jamestown , South Dakota - 8.25 cubic yards ­ $99,000.00 for CR 19 & Sioux County B or $18.00 ton hauled into Mitchel Yard; Simon Contractors, Scotsbluff - 8.85 cubic yards - $6.55 ton ­$106,200.00; Western Engineering, Scotsbluff - 9.38 cubic yards ­ $6.95 ton ­ $112,560.00 and Kembel Sand & Gravel, Scotsbluff - 10.80 cubic yards ­ $8.00 ton ­ $129,600.00. The gravel bids wil be tabulated for possible awarding at the regular Scots Bluff County Commissioners meeting on April 21, 2014. April 21, 2014 - Moved by Meyer, seconded by Straton to award the gravel bid to Simon Contractors, Scotsbluff - 8.85 per cubic yard - $6.55 ton ­$106,200.00, as recommended by Robert Bennet, Public Works Director.

Roads Department - Bridge Improvement Project C­79(142) - October 3, 2014

Robert Bennett, Public Works Director, opened bids for Bridge Improvement Project C­79(142). Bids received were from Corr Construction, Hermosa, SD $397,850.00; R&C Welding, Gering, NE $364,688.59; Simon Construction, North Plate, NE $379,920.00. The Bids were tabulated and presented at the County Commissioner meeting on October 6, 2014. October 6, 2014 - Moved by Marker, seconded by Meyer to receive the bids and approve the Bridge replacement bid from RC Welding for $364,688.59.

Weed Control Department - Pick-up - December 7, 2014

Schledewitz opened bids for a pick-up for the Weed Control Department. Bids were received from Regannis, Scottsbluff $35,475 list price, $23,572 with trade-in and $25,572 without trade-in; Fremont, Scottsbluff $36,625 list price, $21,748.92 with trade-in and $23,248.92 without trade-in; Masid, Morrill $36,010 list price, $23,995 with trade-in and $26,691 without trade-in; Team, Scottsbluff $36,665 list price, $24,151 with trade-in and $25,561 without trade-in. December 10, 2014 - Moved by Marker, seconded by Meyer to award the Weed Control pickup bid for a 2015 Ford to Fremont Motors, Scottsbluff, for $23,248.92 as recommended by Schledewitz and advertise for the sale of a 1997 Ford 250 pickup.

Roads Department - Skid Steer Loader - December 14, 2014

Robert Bennett, Public Works Director, opened bids for a Skid Steer Loader. Bids were received from Nebraska Machinery Company, Gering, $58,524.48 for a Cat 277D; Murphy Tractor, Gering $43,611 for a JD319E; Sandberg Implement, Gering $43,940.34 for a Bobcat T650. December 17, 2014 - Moved by Meyer, seconded by Marker to award the skid steer loader bid to Murphy Tractor, Gering, for $43,611.00 as recommended by Robert Bennett, Public Works Director.
